Weekly Quote"One person can make a difference, and everyone should try." -John F. Kennedy So...what have I done?I need to form a list of activities. I know for sure I want to feed the homeless and give them the basic necessities but that takes funding, so I will need to talk with my family about that. Here are the ideas I have so far... I don't remember what I had in mind when I wrote down mentor program so that will probably need to be scratched from the list. I know that I need to get in contact with someone from Hunger Fighters, and Sean Lane from STEM ambassadors to see what upcoming activities I can get involved in. My 3rd week is when ill set the dates up, leaving me with 9 weeks to get out there in the community and do something. Each week I hope to have a friend come with, so I will be contacting them soon. Week 3 will probably be my most stressful week. I've asked some of my teachers for ideas on what to do. I have never taken on a task such as this so I'm not informed on what is out there. I know my bestfriend during this will be google. Another thing Ill have to get used to is communicating with others. Some things I'm not too sure about involve how different organizations run. I have no idea what to expect so it's very likely that my original goals are not possible. Regardless of anything I will try my hardest to do as many things as possible. Here's the list of friends I have in mind to bring along each week so far... 1) Maya Long 2) Londyn McDowell 3) Nevasia Millsaps 4) Kaylee Lewis These first 2 weeks have been incredibly slow. I cannot wait to actually do something. I am not a fan of all this planning. Upcoming Goals...1) Email Sean Lane
2) Contact Hunger fighters 3) Post Week 2 Blog 4) Find organization for Kids and Elderly idea 5) Form more ideas

Weekly Quote"We can change the world and make it a better place. It is in our hands to make a difference." -Nelson Mandela So...what have I done? This week has been spent getting my website set up, which I have found to be difficult. Probably user error. I've re-watched Mr. Barker's YouTube videos on how to work this website. I've also spent a lot of my time trying to figure out the aesthetics and layout I want for this website, I am incredibly indecisive so that has been a struggle. I would like for everything to be neat and organized while also following a strict theme of photos which I have found a particular style that I am fond of but am unable to describe. I found that looking over the successful websites provided on Canvas has helped me get the feel for how these blogs need to sound. I'm happy to know that people's blogs have personality to them, such as Madi Rogers. Before Genius Hour actually started I texted my family group chat to let them know ahead of time. Here's how that conversation went. Upcoming Goals...1) I want week two to be spent planning and brainstorming so hopefully by week three and no later than four I can get to actually doing something.
2) Stay on top of blog updates 3) Work on this project every day 4) Create some type of on-paper layout. I need something strict to keep me focused and to help me manage my time well. 5) Transfer all blogs onto a Google Document 6) Post website 7) Start contacting people 8) Explore Weebly |
