Weekly Quote“Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.” — Martin Luther King, Jr., American civil rights leader So...what have I done?Hello and welcome to Week 10. It is truly getting down to the nitty gritty but nevertheless we made it. This is the last week ill be doing something. Week 11-12 will be wrapping everything up. I have texted my family to let them know what I'm doing for this week. I also let the person of the week know to inform their family for contributions. My Nana let her cousin know about my project and they want to give $20. I will pick that up this Wednesday after mock practice then head to the store so I can buy the food. Person of the Week![]() This is Londyn McDowell. She is a freshman at DCHS. I let some more family members know about my collection of can food. I will need to check with my Aunt and Nana to see if they have anything, and also given my sister a call to see what she can give. I called the Store House for Jesus to see if I can donate it there. The problem with that is their hours are a little weird, and all end before I get out of school meaning over Christmas break is when I can drop them off unless someone else can do it for me. Update: I went to food lion to buy the food. Cans cost about $0.78+. I also got nonperishables like oodles and noodles. We will do they next round this Saturday afternoon. While in the store I ran into my friends Mom and she asked what I was doing. Turns out she has items she can donate as well which is great! Instead of the food going to Store House for Jesus it will go to a local church in Mocksville. They work a lot with people who struggle with drug addictions. They have this bin you can fill up with food. My mom will be the one to drop it off. Reflection
